Letter to Granny:
I got your letter today with my remote readings and yes, they all make sense to me...
... (speaking of the city Dunedin I was living in at the time)...and then there is the energy. Especially the peninsula. I drove out there last Wednesday with Joshua and his playgroup. And as I drove further out I felt the shift in energy, so much that I remember times and other places I have thought of the peninsula. The people that are drawn out there to settle are often on the fringes of life, and who seem rather odd. They are the artists, the wildlife watchers, the psychics, the naturalists, and a number of spiritually wounded, or healing people. Grouped together it is a wonder that they are not publicly noticed as odd, but rarely are they. It is not the picturesque view that draws these people out onto this stretch of land, more of an island really. It is the type and quantity of energy to be found there.
I am sure there is a well of power there, an intersection of ley lines of the Earth. The massive stones buried in the earth tell their tale loud and clear, in deep rich colours and energy.
I am not sure if you know, but Dunedin was built on the remains of an ancient volcano, hence the peninsula is the other side of the crater, and the harbour is the deepest part of the bowl shape.
The huge stones that are buried in the earth on the peninsula have a powerful vibration to them. It is an effect that would no doubt increase for as long as you stand near them. I was hard pressed to not dig my hands into the soft dirt around the edges of the parking area, simply to feel the energy more intimately than in the air all around me. My senses so in tune with the vibrations I was feeling I could almost feel them passing through my body. It was a moment of high awareness of spirit, and low awareness of physical. (I have these frequently in lesser forms).

Ok, It is in the afternoon now, and I talked to you on the phone this morning, about my meditation at the Spiritual Church on Sunday, and about the letters, and John my guide.
The Spiritual Church Minister on Sunday, talked about Lost Souls, although she made a point of saying that no soul is ever truly lost, it is only that they have lost their way. She talked about some of her experiences years ago with rescue work, and being involved in an organisation that assists lost souls to move on. She told us of a spirit she once encountered that was the closest thing to “evil” that she could identify, but she insisted to us that it in itself was not “evil” as there is no such thing as “evil”.
That was an interesting point to my mind, considering I believe in higher and definitely lower levels of spiritual development, and planes of development. I also believe in the collection of large amounts of negative energy, which can adversely affect and individual or a place. (As in house saturation). But evil? It is a two edged sword really, there are those individuals who perceive evilness in others, or a person as evil, and there are those that believe in ultimate supernatural evilness that can infect and affect others, but that people are neither evil nor good. Myself, I can not tell another what to believe, or how to believe in it. I can tell you that in my belief there are forms and types of energy that to some would appear “evil”. There are also beings of lower vibrational levels, and lesser ‘dimensions’ that would thrive on this type of denser energy.
The Minister from this talk described the ‘evil’ being, as like the soul could not be contained within a human shape and had giant roots that reached through the house into the ground, and tentacles that stretched through the house.
I could understand this, and I could think of several ways in which this entity could have taken hold on this house, however the woman giving the speech appeared to be at a loss to explain how such a thing could have occurred. It is at this point in her speech that I realised how closely linked to this plane, and I speak of this spiritual plane as well, these people were. They did not perceive the higher levels I speak of clearly, and they only focused themselves on the recently passed over, the flittering beings who have been abruptly disconnected from their physical bodies and who wander the Earth plane searching for something or someone to hear them. Those souls, and of course their spirit guides, who they see as higher beings. Whereas I see my spirit guides as more of friends who I am not always aware of, but I am comforted by. Beings who can see more of their plane than of this one, and who understand their communication, and world a little easier without the veil of the physical birth, and body to shield them.
Not as beings who understand the all, and the many. Not as beings who are ‘above’ me. They are our equals in as much as the next person is our equal. The weight of these beings should not be glamorised, not raised above our own. Their task, as guide to their physical human friends, is done from love. They love us in our many idiosyncrasies, and take as their reward the joy of watching and learning, and the forces that affect their lives, as much as our lives here.
Would it be hard to accept if I told you that life in their plane is more real than life on this physical one could ever hope to be? And when it comes time for a spiritual person to evolve, and to explore themselves in a different manner, they plan a ‘life’ here on this plane, that they will incarnate into and live through, in a designed move to change themselves. To them it is a kind of rebirth when re-entering the spiritual planes, in a different form. Eventually your past-life memories will be given back to you in full, but as you travel through the successive places in spirit to reach the places you have once been before, you are not the same spirit any more. You have learned things about others and about yourself that have changed you, made you different. And so the learning process can begin again, or take a different route. This kind of evolution of the soul takes a long time in the count of Earth years, but is imminently rewarding.
Now, this morning on the telephone you were recounting how S is finding it difficult to focus her mind in the technique of guided meditation. What she needs to do is wait until it is a moonlight night, when the moon is at it’s most fullest or is waxing, and the light can reach her house. (This is the most optimum time for S, as her energy is closely linked with the moon and will be charging with the cycle of the moon). Ask her if she feels differently when it is a clouded night, or when the moon is new, full, etc.
She needs a candle flame, and some quiet space, preferably with no one else in the house. First she needs to focus on the candle flame and just sit quietly, and comfortably, with her back straight (but not rigidly forced), and her arms resting by her sides or held together, with her feet crossed. A straight back; designed for the energy to flow correctly, and if her head is poised above her straight spine it can increase the energy flow into her physical body. Feet crossed; circulates the energy within her aura, decreases loss of energy. Hands held, fingers interlinked; also greatly increases energy held within the aura.
Concentrate on the flame within the flame, and quietly allow the image to come into your mind. Then close your eyes and hold the image of the flame in front of you. Allow the scene before your eyes to be the same one in your mind. Open and close your eyes as many times as it takes for you to put the picture of it in your mind.
If other thoughts persist in entering your mind, quietly acknowledge them to yourself and then let them go.
Once you have the picture in your mind, quietly allow for the things around the flame to disappear, as you draw closer and closer to the image of your flame. Allow it to grow bigger and bigger in your head until it fills the space of your picture. Watch it dance, flicker, and burn.
When you can hold this image in your mind steadily and without giving yourself a headache, you should then allow your mind to focus on the flame, and do not concentrate!! Allow your mind to drift, to travel and watch as each thought comes into your mind.
If that exercise gives you problems, then try this one. Allow your every day thoughts to leave your mind, acknowledge each one and let them go. Relax yourself and take deep breaths, slowly releasing each one. Now, in your mind visualise a darkness around you (this should not be too hard, as when you close your eyes – it already is dark!!) Imagine the middle of your forehead, or just direct your attention there. And picture a beam of light pouring out into the darkness from the centre point in your head. Allow yourself to feel the beam of light as it stretches on infinitely into the darkness. What do you see in the darkness?
Also, you could imagine your third eye awakening, during your normal everyday hours. As many times as you can think of it in the day, just imagine you see an eye in the middle of your forehead opening.
The acknowledge exercise is a simple one. It should enable you to clear your head of the everyday worries, and thoughts, and silent monologue in your head. It is difficult at first to, as I put it, ‘shut yourself up’. Basically you have no idea how often you talk to yourself in your head, and how often in this ‘so-called’ arguments with yourself, you are actually arguing with another being. So this one should be done before attempting to start your guided meditations.

Imagine yourself sitting in a room with a door on one side and a window on the other. It is a nice sunny, summers day, and the window and door are open. Beyond the door is a lot of noise and commotion, and one by one your thoughts troop through the door and present themselves to you.
As you inspect the first thought you say to yourself, yes, I acknowledge ‘you’ (fill that space with whatever your thought is), and then after acknowledging that the thought is there, let it float out the window. And so on, with the next thought.
Let yourself think all the things of the day, or all your worries or just any stray thoughts that happen to be there. Let yourself not actually think about them, or where they might lead.
Tell yourself, yes I acknowledge that I need to do the groceries, but do not be drawn to making a list. Let the acknowledged thought float out the window for now, and you will remember about it later.
After you have acknowledged all the thoughts that present themselves, sit in the room in the sunshine and wait. For until you are certain there is absolute quite beyond the door, that is when you must get up off the floor and close the window in your mind, then leave by the door into the quietness of your mind. Tell me how these work out. If you have any luck with them, or are still struggling. Remember though, no matter what you think or dream, or get in your head. It is all meant to be there, and so a seemingly frustrating meditation constantly interrupted by one thought, may have been the very thing you needed to concentrate on. A meditation can be a simple thought, a picture or a word. It does not need to be huge, or have any deep spiritual things, or symbols in it.
Well, I hope that has been of some use to you. It is all old meditations I was doing when I first began my course in spiritual awareness. I often find when I am going to “do” a meditation that music is an invaluable key to triggering complex, involved, or just mind blowing meditations. (Just a suggestion).
Oh yes, there was the other thing I was going to mention about light. This lost soul lady also mentioned the souls can be drawn to houses that are putting out a certain kind of light, as she was referring to some young men who were playing around with a ouija board. I remembered then that this was something I had learned in group many years ago. And it made me realise that there were other factors in spirits, or lost souls.
The type of thoughts a person has, can put out an energy of it’s own. For instance darker thoughts, put out a negative energy, and can create a bounce back effect. ‘What you put out comes back to you’ is how the old adage goes? Well, this is more true than you realise with the thoughts you have. You look at a person and think a positive thing about that person, and that positive energy comes back to you. The same with negative. In which case, an optimistic person could be seen as having a lot of their positive energy reflected back, the same with a depressed person. This of course explains a lot of behavioural and thought patterns in people. Cycles are easily formed, for instance a depressed person having all their negative energy reflected back at them, becomes increasingly depressed. However a happy person is going to have their positive energy reflected back.
Thoughts are powerful instruments, tools, and weapons. Healers in spirit are often attempting to break a person out of a destructive cycle, or negative energy phase. Of course this is merely one aspect of thought. Some other factors involved are energy flows, the type of energy that surrounds you, your vibrational level, harmony with others around you, or suppressing trauma which creates other problems.
There are many things affecting each individual at any given moment that analysing energy and patterns, etc, to explain the basics of environment takes time and patience. These letters I write to you are only as of yet, describing the elemental things in life on this plane. We have not yet begun to journey on the paths I want to take, and this is because before I start I want to be sure you are in the seat beside me, to understand what I want to explain and teach to you.
The things I tell you are not unknown, and they are not new, but they made need to be said in one form so as to bring the mind to these points of awareness before we surge forward.
